Their texts are so inspiring and life-affirming that many listeners were helped to cope with their problems and changed their lives for the better. So the fans write the band, Oh Wonder.

This is a fairly young team from London but has already managed to win millions of hearts around the world. According to the members of the group, their secret lies in the fact that they were not aimed at fame or enrichment. All they wanted was to do. Irrefutable proof of these words is that Oh Wonder posted his first compositions on the SoundCloud streaming platform anonymously. And only after they realized that fans are waiting for their songs, and views are already measured in tens of thousands, they declassified themselves and left the shadow of their work.
Now Oh Wonder is touring quite often and every concert will be marked by a sold out. And whether it is a native Great Britain or France, Belgium or Russia, Australia or Switzerland, the USA or the Netherlands, Germany or Denmark - the duo’s work is clear and close to every listener.
In an interview, Anthony West and Josephine Vander Gucht admit that they like to tour because it allows them to travel, learn new countries, try different foods and get to know people. The guys also noted that the audience in different countries is different. In Asia, fans are crazy. Europeans are more fond of listening to music than enjoying it, so they seemed boring. In America, Oh Wonder participants were not able to give a general description, as the mentality of people differed from state to state. But the collective called the Slavs the most sincere and responsive.

Band history

Anthony West and Josephine Vander Gucht began their career in 2014. The guys who like to plan initially set themselves a certain deadline - releasing one song a month.
The duo uploaded their creations to the SoundCloud online platform. Why exactly this site? Because he seemed to Anthony and Josephine more free and independent, not as official as Spotify or iTunes.
Since the members of Oh Wonder are very similar to each other, they quickly found a common language and energy harmony, tuned in to the same wave and the songs began to appear as if from nowhere. The pair works together on all the compositions.
A year after fruitful work and the monthly release of a new song, Oh Wonder realized how much their music was liked by people and decided to create the first album into which they placed the songs. It was a collection of already individual and loved by many singles.
A few months after a successful album debut, the band begins to tour, which once again proves the inexplicable success of Oh Wonder.

Collaborations

Philadelphia-based American rapper Lil Weasley Wood used part of the 2015 Oh Wonder song entitled “Landslide” in his composition “The Way Life Goes”. The single was released on October 03, 2017, and exactly one month later the world learned about the remix with the participation of Nicki Minaj. This track took 24th place on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
DJ and producer from Chicago Ethan Snoreck, became popular and recognizable thanks to the pseudonym Whethan, in 2018 created his composition “Superlove” with Oh Wonder. The song reached number 48 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the dance electro category.

Structure

Oh Wonder has two members: Anthony West and Josephine Vander Gucht.
Before the creation of the duo, Anthony was a member of various groups, including such groups as Tonight is Goodbye, We The Wild, Futures and others. As the guy recalls, there were more than ten of them.
Josephine Vander Gucht has always sought to solo since five years old has been playing the piano. Since then, this tool has become an indispensable attribute of the girl’s life and work.
The guys learned about each other thanks to a mutual friend. At first, Anthony went to a solo performance by Josephine. Then the girl was present during the game of one team, in which Anthony participated. With a personal acquaintance, the couple realized that she admired the work of the same artists and had a lot in common.
Then they tried to compose songs for themselves, then decided to share their creations with the world. Now the popularity and love of Oh Wonder are only growing.

Discography

To date, the collective collection has three studio albums.
The first album, entitled “Oh Wonder”, was released in 2015 and, unexpectedly, even for the band members themselves, took 26th place on the UK chart.
The group shared the second collection of works with the world in 2017. It had the name “Ultralife” and after the release reached the eighth step of the British chart.
At the beginning of 2021, the third release of “No One Else Can Wear Your Crown” was released, which was also successful, sowing eighth place on the same chart.
